




What is it and what is it used for?
A hyperbaric chamber is a medical device that increases the pressure on a patient's body. Hyperbaric chambers are used to treat certain medical conditions and injuries. They allow the body to absorb more than the usual amount of oxygen, which can help with many things, such as preventing brain damage and healing wounds quickly.
Extracorporeal treatment exposes a person to 100% oxygen at a higher atmospheric pressure than that found in normal air. The high level of oxygen saturates the blood and exposes it to more oxygen molecules per breath, which helps accelerate the body's natural healing process.
How does a hyperbaric chamber work?
When a person enters one of these chambers, the atmospheric pressure and oxygen concentration increase to up to three times normal levels. Doing so eliminates or significantly reduces the risk of developing decompression sickness. The pressure in these chambers also stimulates blood circulation, which helps with healing processes.

Hyperbaric chambers are primarily used by hospitals, divers, and some industrial sectors, such as oil or mining companies, to prevent decompression sickness or treat other illnesses or injuries.
