La casa de medio camino es un tipo de estancia, que no es igual a un internamiento psiquiátrico. El paciente podrá vivir dentro de la residencia, en donde también recibirá tratamiento y puede participar en distintas actividades que Comunidad Terapéutica Margaritas ha desarrollado.
Cuando un paciente está habitando en una casa de medio camino, todo el personal capacitado ayuda a que el paciente pueda llevar un tratamiento de forma continua y bajo supervisión, al mismo tiempo que convive con otras personas, es supervisado, pero siempre respetando la individualidad y autonomía de cada uno de los residentes.
¿Qué es una casa de medio camino?
Se trata también de una fase del tratamiento del paciente, en la que se trabajan algunos otros aspectos importantes para la evolución favorable, entre lo más valioso es que aprenderán durante su estancia conocimiento que le ayudará a retomar su vida diaria como aspectos específicos sobre su trastorno, la forma de superar los obstáculos, mejorar la calidad de vida, evitar la ansiedad y es el puente entre el internamiento y el regreso a casa. Mismo que es necesario para que no se vuelva un proceso más complicado.
En las casas de medio camino se trabaja con todos los pacientes de diversas formas, individual y grupal con apoyo de actividades multidisciplinarias como pláticas, actividades, talleres, terapias, etc., para afrontar los cambios que representa el internamiento psiquiátrico o el proceso de rehabilitación para adicciones, evitar la tensión que puede generar el volver a la vida cotidiana y reforzar la toma de decisiones.
En el caso de que se requiera una casa de medio camino como parte del tratamiento de adicciones, el paciente podrá hacer conciencia en esta etapa de los lugares y círculos sociales que pueden ser un foco de alerta, sabrá cómo evitarlos para su rehabilitación y mayor seguridad.
El tiempo de residencia de un paciente dependerá de lo indicado, puede que sea por un periodo de 90 días o que requiera de más tiempo para volver a adaptarse, esto lo determinará el especialista, así como la indicación previa para estar en una casa de medio camino y el momento cuando puede abandonarla.
En algunas ocasiones, las casas de medio camino también pueden ser una alternativa de rehabilitación para las personas con adicciones que han sufrido en repetidas ocasiones recaídas que no les permiten recuperarse por completo o para quienes no pueden estar completamente rehabilitados porque su círculo social o familiar no lo permite.
¿Por qué elegir una casa de medio camino?
En ocasiones, por indicación médica, los pacientes psiquiátricos, ya no deben permanecer en una Institución o internamiento permanente, pero que deben continuar con un tratamiento y aún no se sienten a gusto regresando a su casa y retomar sus actividades cotidianas.
No se trata de un aislamiento completo ya que el objetivo es introducir poco a poco la interacción social, por lo que están permitidas las visitas y llamadas con familiares.
